Introduction
Technology and
gadgets have evolved since the discovery of using certain tools and resources
that had been improved by us from time to time. From the
past few years, they are always been beneficiary among youths and other
generations from day to day living.
Electronic gadgets such as computer, television, mobile phones, mp3 players, iPod, and laptop that are commonly used for us to do different complex works fast and easy. However, the excessive use of gadgets has become a menace that can make a huge damage among people especially the millennial.
Statement of the Problem
Gadgets form an
integral part in our everyday lives. These tools and resources, especially
smartphones, are commonly used by youths throughout the globe. As an instrument
for communication, it is utilize by most students for different purposes; it is
either for entertainment or academic fields. However, despite the fact that
gadgets are strictly prohibited during class hours, still, they intentionally
disobey rules that limit the usage of gadgets.
This study aims
to know about the main root of the excessive use of gadgets. Also, it provides
efficient solutions to the said problem.
Hypothesis
We assume that
the excessive use of gadgets during class hours is caused by retrieving
information from the internet for academic purposes.
We conducted a survey to gather data about the excessive use of gadgets among students in Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School. The data being gathered were the results of how misuse of gadgets can affect a student's academics.

- Do you bring your gadget/s at school?
- Do your gadgets help you in your academic studies?
- Do you use your gadgets during class hours for entertainment?
- Do you use most of your time taken up by gadgets and technology?
- Do your gadgets affect you negatively with your academic performances?
Data
In this world
of modern technology, gadgets are far beyond helpful to us to provide our daily
necessities in a much easier and efficient way. It plays a vital role in every
individual which makes it a lot harder for students to avoid the excessive
usage of gadgets. Throughout the result of our survey, we conclude that, excessive usage of gadgets was not for academic purposes; most of
the students bring their gadgets at school and can actually distract them with
their academics because of its features in entertainment.
